HUD-Certified Homebuyer Education Classes

Our 8-hour, HUD-certified Homebuyer Education Class equips first-time buyers with the skills they need to purchase their first home. Buying a home doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming – join us to learn the steps of the homebuying process and the responsibilities associated with homeownership.

Topics covered include:
• Money Management & Credit
• Obtaining a Home Loan & Avoiding Predatory Lending
• Shopping for a Home
• Protecting Your Asset
• Your Housing Rights & Protections

This class is open to the public. The cost is $30 per household, paid at the class via debit card.

Online HUD-Certified Homebuyer Education Classes

In partnership with eHome America, Dallas Habitat offers an online, HUD-certified 8-hour Homebuyer Education class.

Easily accessible through any device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can take this comprehensive, fun and engaging course at your own pace. Like our in-person class, this course satisfies lender and assistance program requirements, when applicable.

The cost for this course is $99.

Post-Purchase Education Workshops

At Dallas Habitat, we believe that education doesn’t stop at the time of closing. This class is designed for those who have recently purchased a home and provides resources and guidance on how to succeed as a new homeowner.

Topics covered include:
• Property Taxes & Exemptions
• Homeowner’s Insurance
• Wills & Legal Affairs
• Home Maintenance
• Crime Prevention
• Delinquency Prevention

This class is free and open to the public.
